Job Title: Progress Coach | Contract Terms: Term Time 36.25 hours per week Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm | Start Date: 20th August 2025 | Salary: Scale point 19 £35,158 (Actual £29,817.50)

The Sixth Form Bolton is actively seeking a dynamic progress coach to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a diverse and rewarding support role which includes the delivery of a specific support and pastoral programme to students across all year groups and levels. A key aspect of the role are regular 1:1 appointments with a cohort of learners to consider progress monitoring, mentoring and learning support meetings as part of the College’s raising achievement and retention strategies.  Here the post will include supporting our Level 3 students across a range of programme areas.

 The successful candidate will have experience of providing additional support with English, maths, examination/revision/study skills and time management. To assist students in their main programme of study complemented with targeted interventions for identified students, and where appropriate, offer further support to secure individual outcomes and success rates.

 The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Have knowledge of issues which affect the learning of 16 – 19 year olds

  • Has a thorough understanding and knowledge of the learning processes

  • Has proven experience of supporting young people with a range of pastoral and educational difficulties

  • Is able to identify concerns, risks and barriers to students’ progress and work with parents/carers, College staff and external agencies in order to overcome them

  • Has the ability and desire to motivate and encourage young people to achieve their full potential
