The Sixth Form Bolton is celebrating the remarkable success of students who have achieved exceptional GCSE English and Maths results.
Students have shown incredible resilience, studying GCSEs alongside their main study programmes, securing life-changing qualifications to support their future career progression.
This year’s November resit results of 52% pass rate in English and 43% pass rate in Maths is a tremendous achievement and one that is significantly above the national benchmark for colleges and Sixth Forms in the country. November GCSE resits are available for those students who had previously not yet achieved a grade 4 or above.
Nana Abena Yebuaah Baidoo, a 18-year-old student, is studying A Level Law, Politics and Religious Studies with the Honours Programme and is completing her GCSE English qualification alongside her full-time study programme. Nana achieved a grade 7 in GCSE English and said,
“I chose to study at B6 because they offered the courses that I wanted to do. The teachers are all really hands-on and attentive. My GCSE English Tutor, Mr Slamin, has been especially helpful. When I leave The Sixth Form, I hope to study Law at university and a good GCSE English grade is essential for this. I’m delighted that I achieved such a good grade at B6”
Adaeze Praise Onaga was also over the moon with her GCSE English grade achieving a fantastic grade 8. Adaeze studies Triple Vocational A Level Applied Science and said,
“I wasn’t expecting such a good grade. I previously studied in Nigeria and the style of teaching is so different here at B6. My GCSE English Teacher, Ms Parkinson is really nice and I really like the way she teaches. I need a good GCSE English grade for University so I’m really happy with my 8.”
