Sky Sports Presenter, Kyle Walker, visits B6

This week, Sky Sport's own Kyle Walker came to The Sixth Form Bolton to talk to the Prosper and Women into Leadership students sharing his inspiring journey and the key lessons he has learned along the way. Kyle, who is known for presenting 'Goals on Sunday' and 'Saturday Social,' shared valuable insights into his life and work in the media industry with our students. It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to engage with such a prominent figure.

He began by discussing his early years in acting school, where he developed skills that continue to serve him in his career. To illustrate his success, he showed a video of himself interviewing footballer Erling Haaland, highlighting how far he has come.

Throughout his talk, Kyle emphasized the importance of seizing every opportunity. He shared:

"Every single time something big has happened, it is because I said yes." He encouraged the students to embrace their uniqueness, urging them to "be proud of who [they] are and be confident in it."

Due to his motto of saying yes, this has opened up so many opportunities for him within the world of sports media, leading to positions at the BBC, Sport Bible, and now Sky Sports.

Kyle's presence was truly inspiring, leaving a significant impact on our students. The session provided a rare chance for our learners to connect with someone of Kyle's caliber in the media industry.

Both staff and students at B6 were inspired by Kyles visit with Nick Fisher, Student Leadership Coordinator saying:

I want to extend a huge thank you to Kyle Walker, Sky Sports and Premier League presenter, for visiting The Sixth Form. His talk with our Prosper and Women into Leadership students was incredibly inspiring. Kyle's ability to engage and relate with all the students was truly remarkable. His emphasis on the importance of a positive mindset and hard work resonated deeply with everyone. Being from Greater Manchester, Kyle understands the demographics of the area, making his insights even more relatable and impactful. This is an experience the students will cherish and remember for a long time. It was fantastic to meet Kyle and experience firsthand how down-to-earth he is. Thank you once again for the time and invaluable insights!
