Many students at The Sixth Form Bolton were delighted to receive their A Level results earlier this month confirming that they gained highly sought after places on Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry degrees.

The entry requirements and application processes are very competitive for this group of courses and The Sixth Form’s excellent teaching and support helped the students to secure their places.

Many of the students took part in The Sixth Form’s Honours Programme, an additional pathway for students whose aspirations are to progress onto highly competitive courses at top universities. As part of the programme, students study the Extended Project Qualification, receive tailored support for more complex applications to universities and have access to cultural trips and visits.

In The Sixth Form’s most recent Ofsted report it stated that “students are ambitious and have clear aspirations for their future” and this is definitely the case for this group of students.

Gizem Hasanova, a former Little Lever School student, was over the moon to achieve fantastic results to get into Hull York Medical School to study Medicine. She achieved A, A, B, A in A Level Chemistry, Psychology, Biology and Level 3 Core Mathematics and said:

“It’s life changing to receive my results today. Thank you to my teachers, they gave me the best support they could have.  I am eternally grateful.”

Steve Chukwudi Ukaoha who joined The Sixth Form from Ladybridge High School was really happy with his A, A, A, A in A Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths and Level 3 Extended Project Qualification. He was delighted to have secured his offer from the University of Liverpool to study Medicine in 2025.

Gabrielle did fantastically well to get onto a Veterinary Medicine course as there are only 1200 places available to new students across the UK each year.

The best of luck to all of our future doctors, dentists and vets, everyone at B6 is so proud of you!
