Everyone at The Sixth Form Bolton was excited to hear that former student, Lauren Patel, is appearing in a brand-new Wallace and Gromit film. Lauren, now 23, studied Performing Arts, Music and Media Studies here at The Sixth Form Bolton after leaving Smithills School.
The brand-new Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.
The BBC describe the production as:
“Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl sees Gromit’s growing concern as Wallace becomes over-dependent on his inventions - which proves justified when Wallace invents a ‘smart gnome’ that seems to develop an evil mind of its own. But who or what could be the cause? Lauren plays the role of PC Mukherjee, an overenthusiastic young police officer who figures out what’s really going on but faces disbelief from her idiotic superior. She stars alongside a number of famous voices including Peter Kay and Diane Morgan both also from Bolton.

Lauren’s previous credits include a lead role in the film: 'Everybody's talking about Jamie'. She talks fondly of her time at The Sixth Form saying:
“I had such a wonderful time at The Sixth Form Bolton- the Performing Arts department encouraged me to be creative and confident and really helped nurture my love for performing.”
Our Expressive Arts department are really looking forward to watching the film with Sam Lawther, Head of Performing Arts, saying:
“It is an absolute delight to continue to hear about the amazing and diverse projects Lauren is involved in. We always knew she was destined for greatness. Wallace and Gromit is one of my all-time favourite animations so I'm really excited that one of our past students is now involved in contributing to its success "
