Bright Future Awaits B6 Expressive Arts Students


Creative students at The Sixth Form Bolton are celebrating achieving top results and will soon be progressing onto an exciting range of artistic courses at university and specialist performance schools.  The Sixth Form Bolton is proud to run a number of art, performing arts and music courses designed to nurture our young people’s talents as well as get them industry ready.

Zeng Tham joined The Sixth Form Bolton from Harper Green School.  After achieving an A* and two A grades in A Level Biology, Fine Art and Geography, Zeng is delighted to be heading off to Nottingham Trent University to study Illustration.

Zeng said:

“I’ve had the best time at The Sixth Form; I have met my best friend, been on lots of exciting trips and achieved top grades. Fine Art has been my favourite subject, it’s been great to perfect my skills.”

Also from Harper Green School and heading off to Nottingham Trent, is future photographer, Lucas Richmond-Bailey.  Lucas achieves two A grades and two grade Bs in A Level Media Studies, Mathematics, Photography and L3 Extended Project Qualification. Lucas is studying Photography at university with the aspirations of becoming a professional photographer in the future.

Lucas said:

“I’m delighted to receive my results, it’s been hard work but definitely worth it..  I’ve made friends for life and had the best experiences.  I even got to practice my photography skills by doing staff headshots.”

Oskar Nuttall, also a former Harper Green School student is ecstatic to be attending the University of York to study Theatre; Writing, Directing and Performance.  As well as achieving an impressive array of grades, two A*s, an A and a B grade in A Level Law, Psychology, Theatre Studies & Drama, and L3 Extended Project Qualification, Oskar also starred as one of the lead roles in the Sixth Form Musical production of Legally Blonde.

Oskar said:

“I’ve loved every moment at The Sixth Form, especially the drama performances.  A big thank you to my drama teachers for all their help and encouragement over the last two years.”

Valentina Mattana dreams of a career in the spotlight and is heading off to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire to study Drama.

A former student of Bridgewater High School, Valentina achieved a Distinction Star in Public Services and Distinction Star, Distinction in Performing Arts.

“I’ve had so many amazing memories at The Sixth Form, especially the Legally Blonde performance.  A huge thank you to all the tutors and teachers who have helped and supported me, especially the careers and the marketing team.”

Jude Hodges joined The Sixth Form from Rivington and Blackrod School.  After achieving a Distinction in Music Performance and a Distinction Star, Distinction in Music Technology, Jude is heading off to Spirit Studios in Manchester to study Music Production.
