Last week, the Recruitment Fair was held with great success, drawing a diverse group of employers, training providers, and external partners. This event aimed to support Year 13 students who have just completed their sixth form and are actively seeking apprenticeships, higher education or employment.
The fair marked the culmination of the Apprenticeship Academy’s year-long program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to secure apprenticeships. Since September, students have participated in monthly sessions, each focused on a critical aspect of their job search journey.
The program included:
A talk from PwC about their apprenticeship opportunities.
A session by the Civil Service on how to search and apply for apprenticeships.
A trip to the National Apprenticeship Show.
A mock assessment center with representatives from Fujitsu, First Response Finance, and Saffery.
A CV and interview workshop conducted by Fujitsu.
A talk from UCLAN on degree apprenticeships and their SPARK matching service.
The Recruitment Fair served as a pivotal event for students, providing them with the opportunity to engage directly with potential employers and training providers. It showcased the students' readiness and commitment to securing future employment, highlighting the effectiveness of the Apprenticeship Academy’s comprehensive support programme.

"Building on the success of last year's recruitment event, we were pleased to host it again this year for our Apprenticeship Academy students. This event aims to help them establish a support network as they complete Sixth Form and seek apprenticeships or jobs. Our visitors remarked on the students' focus and determination, as well as their impressive communication skills and dedication to securing apprenticeships or employment."
