The Sixth Form Bolton is proud to promote the fundamental British Values of:
  • Democracy

  • The rule of law

  • Individual liberty

  • Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith

These values underpin the college community and are lived out through our ethos. We celebrate and promote difference and diversity and foster a culture of tolerance and mutual respect.

All curriculum areas provide a vehicle to introduce, discuss and further understand these concepts such that students are equipped for life in modern Britain. Key topics such as rights and responsibilities, equality, deprivation of liberty and extremism are addressed through the pastoral programme.

The views of students are listened to, valued and actioned enabling them to experience the importance of democracy. This is achieved through student surveys, learner voice forums and student representation on key groups including the governing board.
